ESP Monitoring, Surveillance and Optimization

In this course we will cover the basics of downhole and surface ESP systems. We will highlight the importance of data collection and the options utilized in remote monitoring and optimization. After understanding the equipment design and data that can be collected, we will focus on analysis of the operation of the design versus prediction utilizing incoming data and applying optimization strategies to lower operating costs, reduce manpower demands, and increase reliability of the ESP systems. 

Matthew Sikes has been in the ESP industry for 14 years and is currently an Artificial Lift Engineer for Occidental Petroleum Company. His primary focus is ESP design, technology implementation and well optimization for various Oxy field locations across the Permian. Prior to working for Oxy, Matthew worked for Baker Hughes for eleven years in a variety of roles including Applications Engineer, Marketing, Product Line Management, and Engineering Manager.
