Martin began his career in the oil business in 2018 through various operations roles with SM Energy. Through his rotations, Martin gathered experience in reservoir and production engineering, evaluating new development strategies and technology to improve assets in the Permian. Since 2018, Martin has advanced technology in the rod lift and ESP space from improvements in gas separation and rod design to implementation of permanent magnet motor systems. Martin is passionate about artificial lift, currently serving as a Production Engineer for Diamondback Energy and the SPE Production Study Group Chair in the Permian Basin. Martin holds a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines, and beyond work, loves to travel, covering 15 countries in a span of a year.
